This award winning project, also in conjunction with Marsh
& Grochowski Architects, was to convert a simple council bungalow situated near the
edge of Rutland Water into a luxury bungalow - 'Gwithian'.
The project was in three stages:
1
Extension of the existing building
2 Conversion of existing accommodation
3 Landscaping and special features
Special Features:
Window: The beaten copper faced wall with a wave design and circular
'Porthole' window
reflect the
naval background of the client.
Water Feature: The engineering water feature with original steel beams
reflects
the client's engineering background.
Statues: The statue, by Simon Stringer was added later after completion of the
project.
This may reflect the client's interest in
the design and
construction
of the millennium dome - now renamed The O2 Arena.
