TEN YEAR CLUB The 10 Year Club consists of employees within the Company
who have had at least 10 years continuous service. As a reward social
events are held for this group - usually a dinner - and often to celebrate a new
member to this group. Wives are invited on the first occasion. The
events are hosted by the managing director and his wife and take place two or
three times a year.
Present members working for the Company:
Pete Mills, Arthur Cragg, Phil Haxby, Jim Richardson, Dave
Leverton, Roy Wallis, Allan Waldram. Directors: Phil & Jane Waller, Phil Passmore &
Dave Wall.
CELEBRATION
WEDDING
Celebrations at Thoresby Hall for
the 60th birthday of Philip Waller pictured with other directors and their partners.
Married at Newstead Church in
September 2007 Peter Mills to Cathrine Walker. Both
were Company employees at the time. They now have a son, Thomas.
SOCIAL
EVENTS Social events are organised for
departments or
particular groups of workers. Staff are encouraged to initiate these events themselves with the backing of senior
management. It is a time for senior managers to get to know and understand
the thoughts of the workers in an
informal manner.
SAD
NEWS
PETER
TURNER aged 62 died following a heart attack in January this year. His
funeral was attended by 30 members of our present staff. He had been
a bricklayer for the Company for many years. Our thoughts go out to
his wife Pam and son Colin at this time.
We have
heard that PATRICIA CRASKE died late last year. She was the wife of Colin
and sister in law to Graham, both retired from the Company. We
extend our sympathy to Colin and his son Fraser at this time.
