Colwick Park Adventure Centre Built for
Nottinghamshire County Council this is a centre reliant on renewable energy throughout.
There are no external services to the centre in any form, but the centre
is equipped
with all normal facilities found in a sport's centre and the site covers two floors and a
basement boathouse.
Renewable energy is provided by solar and voltaic panels on the
roof, a wind turbine and a wood burning
stove to give direct heat.
Fresh (filtered) water is supplied from a nearby bore hole and there is a large
storage tank for waste products. The basement area is built to allow for
possible flooding. |

This award winning building project, in conjunction with
Marsh & Grochowski Architects, is situated in
Wellington Square adjacent to the
Playhouse. The project provides first floor rehearsal facilities adjacent
to the
Playhouse with a public bar already in place on the ground floor. The
'Nottingham Playhouse' sign is constructed from a single slab of concrete mounted on the
side of the building. |
