    The Company has a policy of maintaining a core of skilled workers.

     
  Background  
     
 

Experience over many years has helped the Company to build on the knowledge and training of its senior workers.  Their skills have been obtained through years of training and work on our sites and is being passed on to the younger generation.
Many employees have been with the Company for ten or more years and enjoy a good understanding with the management and fellow workers.  It is a fact worth noting that there are few problems on our sites and clients are happy for our foremen and workers to proceed with minimum supervision.
 

 
     
  Current Work Force  
     
  Contract Building.   
 

 

Currently there are 90 site workers under 7 foremen alongside office based employees at our Bulwell Headquarters in Nottingham.
Office staff include contract managers, surveyors and administration staff.

 
     
  Decorators.  
 

Currently there are 16 decorators and 3 painters working under a supervisor assisted by
4 foremen.  The Company also has its own experienced Interior Designer.

 
     
  Other Divisions.  
  Small Works Division:         9 employees with CDM site safety status and emergency first-  
                                        aiders and 2 apprentices.
 
  Electrical Division:             6 qualified electricians of which 3 are qualified for PAT testing and
                                     3 apprentices.
 
  Plumbing & Heating Division:5 CORGI registered mechanical engineers assisted by 3 plumbers
                                        and 2 apprentices
 
 
     
  Training  
     
 

The Company has a training policy in that up to five apprentices are taken on in various skills each year.  Each is assigned to a senior craftsman for the duration of their apprenticeship. The learning provider, CITB Construction Skills, through their representative Liz Jones, monitors the progress of each apprentice through site visits and interviews followed by reports to the Company.
One day a week is allowed for college attendance and block release of up to four weeks may also take place on full pay.  In addition trainees are allowed their normal paid holiday quota. A basic set of hand tools is provided by the Company.  Power tools are provided when apprentices are qualified.
